NANCY WITHERELL ART UNVEILS NEW SPRING LAKE VILLAGE PROJECT

SANTA ROSA, CA, May 4, 2015 — Nancy Witherell Art (NWA), a healthcare arts curatorial consultancy, recently unveiled its newest project for Spring Lake Village Senior Residential Community procuring art for the 127 million dollar new construction and renovation project consisting of four new villas, as well as redesigned campus and public facilities.

Spring Lake Village is a senior living community with apartment homes and cottages, clustered around 30 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. NWA worked with Spring Lake Village to source art for the hallways and lobbies of the community’s newest neighborhood, West Grove, as well as the remodeled common areas.

“As an art consultant, I look for pieces that feel like home for residential communities like Spring Lake Village,” said owner Nancy Witherell. “The specific styles of art selected for Spring Lake Village were sourced from regional artists whose work conveyed a sense of familiarity and comfort. The art itself reflects the local environment.”

Recent studies show that the inclusion of arts in a healthcare settings are beneficial to patients, doctors, nurses, staff and that these outcomes are measurable in both patient health and operational health. Understanding this reality, executives at Spring Lake Village commissioned Witherell to secure art that embodied the spirit of Sonoma County with excellent results.

“First of all, it is an absolute pleasure to work with Nancy,” said Alex Dees, Senior Director of Facilities Services. “She is positive, resourceful and understands that some art is a better fit than others for a given space and clientele, and is flexible in finding the right fit. I highly recommend working with Nancy if you are seeking an experienced, thoughtful and talented art consultant.”

The West Grove and renovated campus facilities at Spring Lake Village opened in April 2014. Representing the work of 14 local artists, a total of 192 pieces were installed with 18 pieces of original art, 8 original commissions, and 166 single print or limited editions prints.
